• We believe every person — regardless of disability, background, or circumstance — deserves access to education, meaningful work, and a place in their community. Our mission is to help each individual discover their own goals and build the skills, confidence, and connections to achieve them.

  • Action Based Enterprises is a Rhode Island-based nonprofit (501(c)(3)) committed to building programs that actually work — grounded in the community, built around real people, and designed to create lasting independence.

  • That belief is not incidental to our work — it is the work. It drives how our school program supports students with complex behavioral and social needs, and how our adult community program helps individuals with developmental disabilities pursue meaningful employment, social connection, and greater independence. Across both programs, our approach is the same: meet people where they are, build on their strengths, and walk alongside them toward goals that are genuinely their own.

Every path to independence looks different. We help people find theirs.

For over two decades, Action Based Enterprises has walked alongside people who face barriers — building skills, expanding possibilities, and helping each person define what a full life looks like on their own terms.
